At the September 16 North Allegheny School Board meeting, NA For Change proclaimed:
“We are not going away until the district as a whole, including the board, demonstrates a clear understanding of these issues and supports proportionate solutions. We are once again asking for bold action and consistent transparency to create an inclusive learning environment for the next generation of NA Tiger excellence.”
We wholeheartedly believe in this statement and will put our words into practice.
NA For Change is proud to kick off its #IAmForChange campaign, staking out the need for increased attention by all in the community towards the issues of and relating to anti-racism, diversity, equity, and inclusion both in our classrooms and in our community. The #IAmForChange campaign will consist of a rotating schedule of statements and essays written by diverse backgrounds in the NA community, such as students, teachers, parents, administrators, and prominent members of the community, that will be published by NA For Change and read at each North Allegheny school board meeting. Each statement will be unique but will reinforce the urgent need for the change that NA For Change calls for.
We hope that by pursuing this positive outlet, the community may hear diverse and resonant perspectives that encourage and embolden people to pursue meaningful progress.
