Two years ago, NA For Change’s first annual Caravan For Change invited the entire community to awareness and action. Two years later, as the 2022-2023 school year approaches, this call is once again being made.
NA For Change is hosting their third annual Caravan for Change on Sunday, August 13 at 2 PM at the Devil’s Elbow 2 Pavilion at North Park (by North Park Pool). Their third annual Caravan for Change will serve as a reflection of the past year while also being a time to reemphasize the inclusive vision our coalition and community demand and deserve. The Caravan will end with a procession through the main streets of the Wexford area to bring attention to NA For Change’s mission of placing the issues of diversity, inclusion, and antiracism at the forefront of the community’s attention while advocating for the implementation of a set of immediate and tangible solutions to positively benefit the community and its students. Please feel free to bring your car decorated for the event with signage!
This year, we are excited to announce that we will have guest speakers Coach Margo Hinton and Pennsylvania State Senator Lindsey M. Williams.
Senator Lindsey M. Williams represents the 38th Senatorial District in Allegheny County, which encompasses the 11th and 12th Wards of the City of Pittsburgh, the North Hills suburbs, and many of the communities along the Allegheny River Valley. Her top priorities are hosting community events, supporting local organizations and projects, fighting for family-sustaining union jobs; fully-funded education for all students; and access to quality, affordable health care for all Pennsylvanians. You can read more about her here.
Margo Hinton, or “Coach Hinton”, is a Pittsburgh-based author, entrepreneur, teacher, and coach on a mission to transform the lives of young people. Her school has been able to donate over $100,000 to local and national charities under her guidance and leadership, she is a three-time Hall of Fame inductee, and she has a book, blog, and podcast focused on her desire to inspire others. You can read more about her here.
As always, safety and security are our top priorities. We are cooperating with local police departments to ensure that the caravan portion of our event is safe and orderly.
Join us for a hope-filled, inspiring, and fun day!!
